Giant oarfish are have been one of my favourite animals for a long time and seeing the incredible new footage of them on Netflix’s ‘Our Planet’ recently made me want to paint them again. They are the longest bony fish in the world, coming in at over 10m in length and relatively little is known about them as they are tricky to find.
I also went to a local elementary school’s firefly viewing festival here in Japan about a month ago. I was so happy to see hundreds of adults and children as excited about looking at insects as i am all the time. Here are both these things combined!
